My love towards chestnuts is well known.

From chestnut puree to chestnut love boat I am all in. Like 1000% and more…

Yes, 1000% but ….

To my surprise when I came to Canada out of all fall flavors, chestnut was nowhere to be found.

Imagine that disaster for “chestnut lover” person!

Yes, I know! Life is a bitch or beach…depends how you adjusted.

So when STARBUCKS started to sell merry coffee called Chestnut Praline Latte

my life was almost perfect.

Or at least for 3 months in a year.

Finally somebody is selling “chestnut something” in Canada.

Thank you, Starbucks.

Since that moment you are my favorite coffee chestnut place.

And because of that I will love you forever.

Of course, she forgot the most important word “I will always love you CHESTNUT”.

However, drinking the chestnut praline latte can be expensive JOY!

But I am not complaining. Not at all. I am very thankful to Starbucks.

Above all I am the chestnut addict and because of that I created homemade version of my

favorite merry coffee- Chestnut Praline Latte.

SHOPPING LIST

chestnut puree - main ingredients is chestnut

  • ROASTED CHESTNUT (Walmart)
  • sugar
  • hazelnuts
  • coffee
  • heavy cream

ACTION TIME

MAKING HOMEMADE CHESTNUT PRALINE LATTE

Ingredients

Chestnut Syrup

1 bag of chestnut (about 9 chestnuts)

1 1/4 cup water

3/4 cup sugar

2 TBSP pure vanilla extract

Homemade Coffee

3/4 cup strong coffee

1/2 cup heavy cream (heated)

Praline Crumble

1 3/4 cups hazelnuts

1 cup white sugar

Decoration

Heavy or whipped cream

Instructions for making Chestnut Praline Latte

Your first step is to make syrup.

In a small saucepan add sugar and water.

Bring to boil and boil for 3 minutes.

Remove from heat and cool.

Add vanilla extract and stir together. Set aside.

Coarsely chop the chestnuts and put in a food processor.

Add chestnut syrup to food processor and blend until smooth.

Making Homemade Coffee

I made Turkish coffee. You can make any strong coffee you like.

Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan. (or until almost boiled)

ASSEMBLE THE CHESTNUT PRALINE LATTE

1/8 cup chestnut syrup

3/4 cup hot coffee

1/4 heavy cream (almost boiled)

Find your favorite cup and add 1/8 cup chestnut syrup to the bottom.

Follow by hot coffee and stir to combine.

Pour in the heavy cream.

Top with the whipped cream and praline crumble.

      You can try using almonds, walnuts or pecans. .
