Do you ever have some naughty ideas in front of your garage door? Specially if your garage door contains the magic number
…#69….See, for me this door is just the door that I use as a background to take the pictures. Yes, I use it for my cakes.
What did you think people? I mean, really? Did you think I will start writing 50 shades of grey or darker … just for you?
And maybe I will … one day…but not today.
Today, I want to say we have only 2 days until my favorite day, February 14!
The Valentine’s Day!
Day of love and chocolate. So, dear my reader let’s bake for this special day.
The cake I selected to bake is called
The Nutella Chocolate Love Cake!
This cake is really easy to make. You will need the following:
3 cups AP flour
1 tsp salt
1 TBSP baking powder (no Al)
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup soybean oil
1 1/4 cup milk (2%)
Preheat oven to 350 F. Butter aluminum sheet pan (12inch by 17 inch) and line with parchment paper.
Mix 4 eggs, 2 cups sugar and 1 TBSP vanilla for about 7 min. until thick and double in volume.
Add oil. Keep mixing.
At very low speed, add mix of flour (3 cups flour, 1tsp salt and 1TBSP baking powder) alternately with the milk until the batter is smooth.
Bake for about 20 min or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Set aside to cool.
Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out cakes.
You will assembly two heart cakes together.
This is how:
Spread 1 tsp of raspberry jam + 1 tsp Nutella on one cake.
Spread 1 tsp of raspberry jam on the second cake.
Connect them together. Press gently to secure.
Repeat with the remaining cakes.
2 cups chocolate
1 tsp oil
Melt chocolate and oil together in a small bowl over a pan of simmering water making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water,
then leave to cool.
Spread the chocolate over the top of the cakes. Allow to set.
Decorate with chocolate, icing sugar or just use your imagination. After all you can have all sort of ideas in front of 69 garage door.
And who am I to stop you?
Enjoy with your loved ones.
Now, let’s eat the cake in shape of the heart.
