Questions from YOU, my readers

The filling always runs out. What could be causing that? I left the filling freeze for two days.

Ok, this was very important question.

Why did it happen?

Did you follow the recipe? (did you measure correctly?)

If you did, the next step we need to check is your baking skills.

Did you assembly the cookie correctly? (I believe this was your problem). Please check the pictures below and be sure the filling is inside of the cookie. (you should not be able to see the yellow filling)

BTW, see the picture 2 below. I can’t repeat this enough: You can’t see the filling. Then place cookies into the freezer for 10 minutes or longer.

If you still are having the same problem, please read super important note below.

SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure you can’t see the filling. If you still have the same problem, you will have to return cookie to the freezer 2 times. After the first assembly place the cookie into the freezer for 10 minutes. Then remove from the freezer and cover the top (above the filling) with additional layer of chocolate chip dough. Then return to the freezer again for another 10 minutes. (so you increase the security of the filling. It can’t escape because it has additional dough layer).

FINAL NOTE

This cookies are 5 star cookies.

OUTSTANDING!

Super easy to make and great gift for Christmas.

    • Hi,

I am making the cookies tomorrow so I will add more pictures in order to help you.
Until I do that I have a few questions for you.
What kind of custard powder did you use?
Also, did you follow the recipe for the filling? (using 2 1/4 cup icing sugar)
If you did follow the recipe for the filling next step is super important (check the bold line below):
Cover with another cookie ball and mold around the yellow filling, making sure it is completely covered and concealed. (add more dough as needed)
Repeat with remaining cookie dough and Nanaimo filling.
Return to the freezer for about 10 minutes.
      Thank you for trying.
Please check the blog next week, there will be an additional instructions for Nanaimo Bars Cookies.
