Onion Skin - How to naturally dye eggs

Easy,Safe project for you and your kids!

Ingredients

  • Skin of Organic Onions (3 cups and more)
  • Pantyhose (Dollar Store)
  • Water to cover onion skin and eggs
  • 1 TBSP Vinegar
  • 30 Eggs

Instructions

  1. Place the egg inside of pantyhose and tied secure knot.
  2. Add another egg into the same pantyhose.
  3. Tie and secure. Now you have two eggs tied together and being next to each other
  4. Tell them to be friends and get along. It is important in life to be social being...
  5. Add another egg and keep going until you have 5 or 6 eggs together inside of that one pantyhose. See the picture above.
  6. Use another pantyhose and repeat all steps above.
  7. So, if you want to dye 30 eggs you will need 5 pantyhose. (5x6=30)
  8. If you don't understand math, just keep going until you have all your eggs inside of the pantyhose.
  9. Find your saucepan which is full of the onion skins.
  10. Now, place 12 eggs (2 pantyhose) into a saucepan with the onion skin.
  11. Cover the eggs with onions.
  12. Just imagine you are protecting eggs from enemy.
  13. Then ADD WATER and 1 TBS of white vinegar.
  14. If you are asking me how many cups of water I will have to
  15. say as many as you need to cover eggs and onions.
  16. When water starts to boil, boil for 25 to 30 minutes on medium temperature.
  17. Take eggs out of the pot.
  18. Gently remove the pantyhose.
  19. Rub them with the olive oil (or bacon).
  20. Enjoy!
  21. The color will be different...It depends how much of the onion skin you used.
